Luigi Bosca · Malbec D.O.C
Luigi Bosca · Malbec D.O.C. is one of the first Argentine wines with a
Designation of Origin. A deep and bright red violet wine with balanced
aromas and red fruit and spice notes. It is refreshing and voluptuous in
the mouth, with fine and gentle tannins, while it is clean and expressive
in the palate, with a strong character, typicity and a deep finish with soft
smoked hues as a result of its ageing in oak barrels. It is a great exponent
of the variety and the terroir, with good ageing potential.

Soil and vine
Old parcels of our Finca La Linda located in Vistalba have been selected to make this wine, complying with all the agronomic requirements of the Designation of Origin rules. The soil of the vineyard is clay loam, with a very good drainage and small size stones.
The grapes are hand-picked, clusters are selected, then they are destemmed and after that the best grains are chosen. The must is macerated in cold for 3 to 5 days at a temperature from 10°C to 15°C. Then it is fermented with selected yeast in small stainless steel tanks, with extraction works such as delestage and pressings. Once fermentation is finished, the wine is aged in new French oak barrels in which malolactic conversion takes place and it is matured for 12 to 14 months. Once the ageing is finished, the wine is stabilized, filtered and bottled. It is stored in the winery for at least 6 months before market release.

Comments by the winemaker
Luigi Bosca is the pioneer winery in elaborating a Malbec under the Denomination of Origin Luján de Cuyo. This is the reason why it is a wine which seeks the ultimate expression of the terroir by harvesting its grape in its right level of ripeness and looking after every detail of the making. The climate during the 2016 harvest was cool to cold throughout the plants growth and the grapes ripeness cycle. For that reason, fresh aromas of red fruits such as plums, floral and spicy notes can be perceived in Luigi Bosca · Malbec D.O.C. 2016. It is fresh and lively in the mouth, with sweet tannins and a persistent finish.
